In the photo above, Michelle is wearing a patterned blue jaquard sheath dress by one of Mrs. Obama’s favorite designers, Jason Wu. Michelle has worn one of Jason’s pieces on many occasions, including at the Inaugural Balls (photos below). Her dress is complimented by a blue glass pearl necklace from Erickson Beamon. (Hat tip to Mrs. O for the info on her outfit.)

Unfortunately, I don’t yet have any photos of Michelle in Copenhagen to post.  However, I was able to find a video of her arrival.  As you can see, the First Lady is wearing a patterned jacket with matching dress underneath.  The design of the jacket/dress combination creates an interesting effect, as they are nearly identical, except that the jacket’s pattern uses circles and the dress’ pattern uses squares.  The jacket is drawn in at the waist by a black belt tied in a bow and the entire ensemble is complimented by silver heels and simple stud earrings.

While the First Lady certainly looks nice, this isn’t my favorite combination on her.  Mrs. Obama is a very sleek looking woman, and I find the patterns to be a bit too busy.

I’ll follow up with photos when I can get my hands on some, but in the meantime, you can also watch the short statement that the First Lady gave to the press after arriving.

What an ensemble! A white three-quarter sleeve jacket with silver belt and flats leave the First Lady looking lovely as ever.

White House photographer Pete Souza did an excellent job of capturing the intimacy of this moment between the First couple.
