First Lady Michelle Obama and White House Chefs join children from Bancroft and Tubman Elementary Schools to harvest vegetables during the third annual White House kitchen garden fall harvest Oct. 5, 2011. Mrs. Obama planted the White House kitchen garden to help connect kids with the food they eat – an essential component of her Let’s Move! initiative.
The First Lady has made children one of her top priorities during her time in the White House, so it should come as no surprise that she is slated to appear on Sesame Street to promote gardening and healthy eating. In fact, Michelle is headlining the opening show of Sesame Street’s 40th season on November 10th. I think it’s quite an honor and shows just how loved the First Lady is.
Unsurprisingly, the First Lady looks beautiful in this photo from the set. Even when she’s “dressed down,” the First Lady looks good.
This is Mrs. Obama’s second appearance on Sesame Street. During her first appearance she talked about encouraging healthy habits in children. Here’s a short clip from her first appearance.
