Last night First Lady Michelle Obama presented Chicago’s case for bringing the 2016 Summer Olympics to the city of broad shoulders, and did she ever look good doing it! The First Lady really brightens up the room with this shimmering yellow dress by Michael Kors Chicago designer Maria Pinto. The defining feature of the dress is a wide belt worn high on the waist, and certainly the boldest feature of the dress is a large bow. Michelle accents the dress with a short sleeve cardigan and simple earrings.
UPDATE: The third city to be eliminated is Madrid, meaning that Rio de Janeiro will be the 2016 Summer Olympic Games host city.

Oprah tries to keep dry on her way to the International Olympic Committee Opening Ceremony where she will help First Lady Michelle Obama lobby members of the International Olympic Committee in support of Chicago’s bid for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games.
Oprah is wearing a black silk blouse with ruffled collar and black skirt. She compliments it with a pair of peek toe gold pumps, dangling gold earrings, and a charcoal gray scarf.
Chicago’s bid for the Olympics is bolstered by the presence of international superstar Oprah Winfrey. She truly has the Midas touch. Whatever she touches turns to gold. Her presence, combined with the intellect, personability, and star power of the First Couple, gives Chicago what is undoubtedly one of the finest Olympic lobbying teams ever assembled.
As you probably know by now, First Lady Michelle Obama is leading the US delegation to the International Olympic Committee in an effort to secure the 2016 summer games for Chicago. I can think of no better person to represent the United States than Mrs. Obama. She is intelligent and well-loved.
The First Lady delivered remarks at a reception hosted by Mayor Daley in Copenhagen, site of the 121st IOC Session and XIII Olympic Congress.
We need all of our children to be exposed to the Olympic ideals that athletes from around the world represent, particularly this time in our nation’s history, where athletics is becoming more of a fleeting opportunity.

[T]hat’s what excites me most about bringing the Games to Chicago – the impact that it can have on the lives of our young people, and on our entire community.

[T]his is an opportunity for the United States to connect to the world in a really important way at a very critical time, and for each of us to show them our passion and sincerity to be part of the world in a very special way, and to let people know that we understand that sports saves lives, that it makes dreams come true, that it creates visions in kids’ heads to make them think they can be the next David Robinson, the next Barack Obama, the next Nadia Comaneci, the next Oprah Winfrey. Those dreams have to start somewhere, and for so many, they start when they watch the Olympics. And if we can show people that we understand that power and that possibility, then they will have the confidence that not only will we have the city – the Olympics in a city that works, but will execute this thing with the kind of passion and openness and sincerity that the world so greatly wants to see in us.
