James Gale must be having the time of his life. This 11 year old won a contest to be on national TV during the Super Bowl and get a chance to meet his NFL hero, Wes Walker, a wide receiver for the New England Patriots. He also got a tour of the White House from First Lady Michelle Obama, who we see below in a funky, 80s-style blouse and royal blue pencil skirt.  You know the 80s are back when the First Lady is sporting their style!

James has quite an amazing story, having been adopted from Liberia. Be sure to read more about him and the NFL PLAY 60 contest.

What a great way to end the State of the Union. Barack and Michelle called John Buchanan to inform him that his daughter Jessica, a missionary to Somalia, had been rescued from Somali bandits.

On a lighter-although certainly not as happy-note, we get a great look at the First Lady's amazing sapphire blue Barbara Tfank dress that she wore to the State of the Union, and she paired it with a pair of classy, strap-back black heels.

In a phone call from the U.S. Capitol immediately after the State of the Union Address, President Barack Obama informs John Buchanan that his daughter Jessica was rescued by U.S. Special Operations Forces in Somalia, Jan. 24, 2012. A couple of weeks ago the White House hosted an early Hanukkah celebration. First Lady Michelle Obama looked radiant in a blue tea length dress.

We'll have photos from tonight's lighting of the National Menorah on the south side of the White House as soon as we can.

In March Michelle, Barack, Sasha, Malia, and Grandma Marian Robinson took a trip to El Salvador.

As you'll see below, the First Lady's wardrobe choices on the trip were excellent, even by her always high standards.

The standout garment choice was a white and gold L'Wren Scott.  In fact, you voted it as your favorite piece of the First Lady's formal evening gowns in our recent poll. Almost unbelievably, it received nearly half of all votes cast. Talk about a runaway winner!

Nobel Peace Prize - Torchlight Procession

A banquet was among the festivities that the First Couple was invited to as a part of President Obama’s receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. For the occassion, the First Lady picked a pale blue evening gown and matching jacket by designer Azzedine Alaïa. The gown has a relatively simple top with double straps on each shoulder and beading around the trim, but from there it gets interesting. There is a wide sequined band separating the top from the skirt, which is composed of alternating bands of sequins and pleated fabric. Mrs. Obama accented the outfit with satin pumps, and very modern, long, dangling earrings.
