The Obama's attend Christmas in Washington

Last night the First Lady attended Christmas in Washington, a Christmas concert featuring a number of prominent artists including Mary J. Blige, Neil Diamond, Sugarland, Rob Thomas, and Usher.

Mrs. Obama wore a simple and elegant black v-neck dress with a full skirt. Mrs. O informs us that it is the work of Isabel Toledo.

Nobel Peace Prize - Torchlight Procession

A banquet was among the festivities that the First Couple was invited to as a part of President Obama’s receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. For the occassion, the First Lady picked a pale blue evening gown and matching jacket by designer Azzedine Alaïa. The gown has a relatively simple top with double straps on each shoulder and beading around the trim, but from there it gets interesting. There is a wide sequined band separating the top from the skirt, which is composed of alternating bands of sequins and pleated fabric. Mrs. Obama accented the outfit with satin pumps, and very modern, long, dangling earrings.

On Friday, First Lady Michelle Obama was in Oslo, Norway with her husband, as he was being honored with the Nobel Peace Prize.  For the occassion, the First Lady wore a stunning gold jacket and dress, paired with a yellow scarf.  On her feet were a pair of simple gold pumps.  The ensemble left her looking positively regal!

Obama

My apologies for only getting these images to you now.  I was attending a conference late last week and am visiting family for the holidays, so I haven’t had the time to keep as up to date with this blog as I would like.

This is the first in a series of posts on the First Lady’s trip to Oslo, Norway.  As you likely already know, President Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize a few months ago.  Consequently, the President and First Lady traveled to Oslo, Norway to participate in the Nobel festivities.

Here we see the President and First Lady leaving the White House for Andrews Air Force Base.  The First Lady is looking good in her black peacoat and red scarf.  Of course, as good as they look, neither of them look too happy.  I’m not sure what the story is here…

U.S. President Obama attends the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors in Washington

Last night First Lady Michelle Obama attended the Kennedy Center Honors program. The Kennedy Center Honors are given for lifetime achievement in the arts. This years honorees are Mel Brooks, Dave Brubeck, Grace Bumbry, Robert De Nero and Bruce Springsteen.

Mrs. Obama looked absolutely stunning in a strapless, pleated purple dress. She accessorized it with a very intricate necklace and, as she often wears, a bangle bracelet. For now this is the best picture that I have from the event, but I hope to have more soon!

Obamas Take Part In Lighting Ceremony For National Christmas Tree

Every year the President lights the National Christmas Tree, and Michelle, Sasha, and Malia were on hand to lend a hand. The First Lady also read “The Night Before Christmas” to a group of children (above).

As usual, the First Family looks amazing, but I think the highlight goes to Malia in her red overcoat.

UPDATE: Here’s a video of the event
