Tradition holds that the President hosts the national champions of major American sports at the White House. The St. Louis Cardinals won the World Series last year, and so this was their turn in the spotlight with Barack and Michelle.

The White House decorators have decided to create several "sculptures" of Bo, the Obama family dog, to use in the White House Christmas decorations.
There will be 5 wonderful Bo pieces made from a variety of materials including buttons (318 buttons in total), felt (35 yards of wool felt used), pom poms (750 pom poms used), trash bags (6,850 feet worth), and–my personal favorite–candy (12 marshmallows, 1911 pieces of licorice)!
When you include ornaments featuring Bo small Bos, you can find the First Dog in almost every room!
Here you can get a sneak peak into the making of "Button Bo," the smallest of the five topiaries.
